Though it has been talked about for years now, a Hyundai pickup truck has finally made it to the market. Or, at least, it will get there later this year. This is what we know so far about the 2022 Hyundai Santa Cruz, the new Hyundai vehicle coming soon to our dealership!
Power
You’ll have your choice of two engines to pick from in this truck. The base is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder unit that offers 190 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque. This is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The other engine is also a 2.5-liter four-cylinder, but it is turbocharged and produces 275 horsepower and 310 lb-ft of torque. It’s mated to a dual-clutch eight-speed automatic transmission.
Towing
For a pickup truck on the smaller side, the Hyundai Santa Cruz has very good towing ability. The standard engine will let you tow up to 3,500 lb, which increases to 5,000 lb with the turbo engine.
Technology
You can always count on Hyundai when it comes to tech, and the Hyundai Santa Cruz has many built-in features. These include an eight-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, as well as wireless device charging. An eight-speaker Bose® sound system and wireless pairing for Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay™ are available.
Safety
The Hyundai Santa Cruz is built with safety in mind:
- Lane departure warning
- Forward collision warning
- Automatic emergency braking
- Lane keep assist
- Rear cross-traffic alert
- Blind spot monitoring
